Thank you for your interest in Wildcats Cheer. Here are some general information about the program.
Q: What is the SC Wildcats Cheer?
A: We are a youth cheerleading organization that teaches cheerleading skills to children that are entering 1st - 8th grades. Our Cheer coaches are volunteers from the West Ranch High School Varsity cheer team.
Q: When is registration?
A: 2019 Cheer registration opens April 1.
If this is something you are interested in, please contact our Cheer Director, Linda Clark at email@example.com and at (818) 512-9670 we will add you to our email list to receive additional informormation and program updates.
Q: What is the time commitment?
A: All cheer practices are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, August through November at Rancho Pico Junior High School in Stevenson Ranch. We hold a cheer camp early August for a week. Our cheerleaders cheer at all home games which include games at West Ranch High School, Valencia, Saugus and Golden Valley. We only travel out of the area during playoff games and the Super Bowl which take place in the month of November.
Q: How much is the Cheer program registration fee?
A: The sign up cost for the 2019 season is $250.00 per cheerleader which includes field fees, insurance, spirit wear, rental of Cheer Box and "Pink Package" for October Breast Cancer awareness month.
Uniform cost is approximately $135.00 which is collected and ordered at the start of the season. At the end of the season we usually collect around $50 to cover the end of year banquet misc (coaches gifts, decorations, dessert, etc.)
Q: Is there fundraising?
A: There is a “Friday Night Lights" fundraiser West Ranch Cheer puts on and our cheerleaders get to cheer with them at a Varsity football game. The cost is usually $25 and by far the favorite event of the season!
Cheer is also in-charge of all home game snack bars and all of the proceeds go to the cheerleaders for their end of year banquet and end of year gifts. Each family will be required to donate snack bar items (possibly several times) and will need to volunteer to help run the snack bar (or have a sibling volunteer for CJSF hours.)
Q: Who do I go to if I have a question or problem during the season?
A: Depending on the nature of your problem, you may direct your question to our Cheer Director, Linda Clark. Other Board members are also available to discuss issues that are unable to be resolved at the team level.
Q: What is the SC Wildcats Chapter Refund Policy?
A: All registrations for Football and Cheer are FINAL. Refunds will not be granted should a player or cheerleader elect not to participate in the SC Wildcat program.
